Just ordered my 82

So yeah, just placed the order for my 82 from SOG International. Said it will be here Monday, so probably next weekend I'll have it straitened out and put some rounds through it

They are certainly fun guns! Easy to use, a breeze to clean with the polygonal rifling. I like mine. Here is a pic. I stripped the black finish off. Mechanically sound, but aesthetically it wasn't so great. Black finish on it was all chipped here and there. I was going to blue it, but it looked so good like this, I cancelled that process Mine came from J&G.

I love mine and would'nt take a $1000.00 for it. When you feel the grip and shoot it you'll know why we like them.

I'd sure like to have pearl grips on mine and blued black as tar.

You will definitely love it! As for the grips, I bought some wooden ones for it and they're nice, but they're also really wide. Or the ones I bought are. I went back to the plastic ones and sanded them down a little to make it narrower. Still feels great in hand and it more comfortable for carrying now.

I'd like to get wood grips for minem although I like it in the black finish. What I really like about it is the trigger. Firm, yet light. Mine came with indentations for white night sight inserts on the rear sights, that I'll fill in with sight paint the next time I get to the gun shop and can pick some up. The officer who owned mine previously also partly painted the serrations on the front sight to make a white 'post' so this ought to work well. I won't be able to tell until January, however, because the ranges at the club are closed due to hunting season.

If I ever get gainfully employed again, I will certainly get one to keep my CZ 52 company.

I had a 82 and an 83 in .380, both fine guns and fun to shoot. Carried them for 2 years (mostly the 82) but traded them for a cz-75b.

I am going to buy 2 more money permitting, they are that great.

Well ordered last Thursday and they (SOG) had it to the gunshop on Monday! Yeah!!! man I'm sooo impressed with the service and the firearm! Gun is in super great shape with only 2-3 little marks on it and the thing is in uber condition! Shoots really good to, after a little good cleaning and what not it should be even better. At the moment it is shooting a little low. At 20-25 ft. it was hitting the dirt about 6 inches in front of the target and digging ruts lol. Only problem I'm having so far is that the mag's are hard to get out, they just don't slide out or whatever... I think it's to do with the handgrips are too tight on the inside... not sure b/c I can hold the barrel and hit the mag release and it slides all the way out when the clip is pointed down, but if I have my hand around it the clip will only slide about 1/2 to 1 inch and then it is tight in there to get out. Over all a nice gun though!

I have some suggestions for you. One, buy a CZ 75 adjustable rear sight. The dovetail will fit your CZ 82. I just did that recently and now have it spot on and shooting great! Also the mag release button on my was a pain to start with. The spring in there is very heavy. I took my button assembly apart and replaced the spring with a lighter one and it helps a lot. Now I can easily push it with any finger I want. I tend to hit it from the right side with my middle finger as my thumb isn't long enough to reach the button like I usually would. TO make the mag drop out(mine dropped smoothly when I got it) all you need to do is take the grip panels off and look on the inside. Hit any worn areas with a file or sand paper just enough to make it fall out. Shouldn't take much. I also sanded down the high spots on the grips to make the pistol narrower and filed the first steps down on both sides of the safety lever and the slide release. When I get my CW permit, this will be my carry pistol unless I find something better that I can afford. As such, I want it to be as narrow as possible to make it more comfortable in carry. I don't know what use you have in mind, but if might help you if you want to carry.

Here are some pics of mine after I put the CZ 75 adjustable sight on it.

^On a side note, the finish on mine was a good bit more worn than yours and probably saw more use. Over time, your mags may start to drop out easier just with use.

^Yeah. You need an adjustable rear sight like I said. Mine was shooting 4-5 inches low with the original sight.
