Usually don't do much. I am thankful for many things but I think the one really worth mentioning right now is REMISSION. I am so happy to hear that.

a happy Thanksgiving to everyone !

... the Oliver household will keep things traditional and have a few of the in-laws over for a large turkey, mashed potatoes, turnips, corn, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy, etc. ...

... hope the best for everyone !

Daughter wants us to go to her place. 2 Hours away.I know thats not far but I have to work on friday and because I have been working in another town that means a 2 hour drive in the morning. Oh and she also wants me to cook the dinner at her place. Our son doesnt want to go with us. Would be alot easier if she came here and spent the weekend. Guess I will have to try and talk her into it. Maybe a bribe.

Cgo, glad to hear you are doing better. I still have you in my prayers.

We're going to have Her Imperial Majesty's uncle (who lives next door to us) over for dinner, which I will be cooking. At least this year I can make stuffing with wheat flour in the cornbread stuffing instead of trying to make cornbread with no wheat flour in it! Junior's autism doctor says his gut is healed, so he can have little bits of gluten and casein now and then. I'll get the pumpkin pie from the local orchard's bakery.

The thing that hits like a kidney punch is the fresh natural turkey with no antibiotics. $4.00 a pound is a LOT much for turkey!

Gonna be a odd thanksgiving this year here in baghdad. Will be my first time completly away from family during the holidays and in a war zone to boot. I am thankful for being able to wake up each day and be that much closer to coming home to my family and friends. I pray all the time for the health of my family and for my friends including those of you on here. I am thankful that many of those prayers have been answered in the way I had hoped. Its great to hear about the good new CGO!!

That's great news Debi!

We are having our Thanksgiving dinner this weekend, since my family is in town. Living 6 hours apart, we don't get to visit very often. Three days off and a weekend of food, family, and being lazy. I have so much to be thankful for, I don't think I can list it all, but I will start with my wife and son, and the fact that I have been blessed with so much that many don't have these days.

As for T-day, I work at 0400 Friday, and the wife possibly work, so we are staying home and she is cooking a small bird.

Saturday we are going to my parent's farm and cutting trees out of the diverted acres, and the wife will skip out to visit her Mom for a bit. Since my brother's kids are ill-behaved, no guns other than my CCW I alway carry when on the road, and maybe the 44 mag to scare the deer.
Me also LHS Im thankful for my friends here and for CGO's good health reports. WW and all the rest. Ill be studying and doing some research for my poly sci class.

Just a nice quiet time at home, maybe watch some football, definitely eat too much. Wait a minute! I'm retired! Except for the football, I can do that everyday! Ain't life grand? Then if we want, the wife & I just pull up stakes & go somewhere. Something I can't do on holidays is go shoot 'cause they're closed, but any other time, yeah!

Seriously guys, I have a lot to be thankful for & I don't wait & do it just one day a year. You all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Besides a turkey and a ham, the requests have been mashed potatos and giblet gravy, sweet potatos, dressing, homemade cranberry relish, homemade Swedish rye bread and dinner rolls, deviled eggs, veggie platter, and pumpkin and apple pies. Normally, it's homemade pies, but this year they are gonna come from a box. And I may save the rye bread for Christmas.
