My PT-745 is starting to give a lot of light strikes..

Anyone know if you can buy a heavier striker spring? Anyone had the striker apart? I've taken Glocks and S&Ws apart regularly, but haven't seen a setup like this before. I bought it used, so I don't know if I can get warranty or not. I'd just as soon fix it myself if I can get parts. Thanks for the help.

I fixed it! I took it back to the gun shop where I got it, put down a few more bucks and got a new model. It shoots like a wizz. No mis feeds or mis-fires, just noise and accuracy. I'm getting to like the Heine sights!

I'm glad it worked out for you. You own a great gun. For future reference, Taurus will honor the warranty no matter what. If you were the origional owner or the 100th owner they have a lifetime warranty and stand behind it. Enjoy your gun. You made a fine choice.

Thanks, K W Gary M,

I really enjoyed shooting it last night. My oldest son is down from KY for the week and we have been burning some powder. He's old dead eye, while I try to keep on the paper. We both got distracted with the long pull of the 745, but after we determined that it was anticipation, the shots went from low to point-of-aim. I've had some nice triggers, but this is the smoothest, most comfortable. Have a great day!
