I can't stand that Britt, but that was pretty good anyway. I hafta agree the Prius is one of the most useless vehicles ever made. What about the environmental impact of all those hi-tech batteries when you need to get rid of them?

They're actually not lead based, they're Nickel Metal Hydride. I actually just looked it up and supposedly they are 100 per cent recyclable.

We can thank our government for such garbage. Those idiots wouldn't know how to change the oil in their own vehicle, but think they can dictate to the auto industry engineers about MPG goals with dead lines.
After all said & done, I read where a person would have to put 150,000 miles on a prius before he broke even. About the same on other brands. All due to higher initial cost of the automobile, high cost of replacement batteries every 35,000 to 40,000 miles, plus not getting as good MPG as advertised.

Then you've been misinformed.

My one and only complaint for the Prius is that it sits too low to the ground. The bottom gets the shit scraped out of it.

I have, rented one to see what all the fuss is about...

Sure, around town, did good (not great) on gas, highway, so so at best. Performance, well, just flat out sucks, it DOES have a hard time getting the front out of its own way. It is NOT a comfy car to drive, or to ride in, and has tons of road noise. I can honestly think of NO reasons at all to buy one, hell, or even rent one, they are a complete waste of time, as the new diesels do just as well for mileage, and they are MUCH cheaper to build.

It seems we've had near opposite experiences. It definitely isn't a Ford Mustang, or a new Camaro, but it is very spacious and comfortable, while maintaining excellent gas mileage. I've gotten 62 MPG, 45 MPG is a LOW average. 50MPG is about average. It's extremely quiet.

Meh. Different people have different opinions, I suppose. No sense in arguing.
