That is pretty clever but I would be concerned with the strength of the hidden rack.

^True that! Of course behind a shelf full of chick flicks should be a good hiding place too!

Now that I really like. And I'm sure you could somehow reinforce the slide out shelf in someway? A good wood worker could make a muck stronger one. I'd think making one out of say oak or walnut rather then press board or plywood would in and of itself be stronger. lol

I do really like it. But don;t think that screw n glue press board unit from Walmart is worth $648.00...

And hidden behind some porcelain ducks is good, but unfortunately the little handle gives it a way that something is there. I'd have to remove it and make a hand hold cut out on the back of that slide out shelf or if I were to make one, make it that way to start with.

I'm sure if I could afford the would I could do it. Have all the right tools, table saw, jig saw and all the rest. Just money and space to di it I don't have. lol

I saved the images and will someday maybe make my own stronger version. Might not be anytime soon, but if I get the chance, I will. lol

Interesting, but if you look closely at it, that gun shelf isn't wide enough to hold scoped rifles.

yeah, i've actually run into that problem with a gun cabinet i have right now...not really enough room to store scoped rifles in it if i want to completely fill it up...so i either very carefully take the scopes off, or just dont fill the cabinet up...

They make drawer slides that will hold a couple hundred pounds. The idea is good enough, but as usual for Wally World, the execution and workmanship probably leave something to be desired. And somehow, I suspect that "American Furniture Classics" stuff is made in China or elsewhere rather than here.
