TY Kay Hutchinson

251 Members of Congress and 58 Senators signed the NRA amicus brief for the McDonald v. Chicago case; the most signatures by elected officials on an amicus brief in history. If this case is successful, not just Chicago will be affected but also New York and any city having an outright ban of firearms as this case combines both the 2nd and the 14th Amendments to argue that no city has the right to enact such legislation that is in direct conflict with the Bill of Rights.

I'm surprised nobody else responded to your post DW. This is big news on the other gun forums. Thirteen state legislators from my own state were among the signers. I think this might lead to the biggest victory against gun control since the Heller case. Write those congressmen and sound off on the mainstream news forums. The gun grabbers are on the run now. Let's keep hammering them ...

This is potentially huge as this can effect every city in the US in one fell swoop instead of battling individual ordinances at considerable time and expense. Not only would this reinforce firearms ownership rights across the country, any city council/mayor/sheriff that would still attempt to legislate a firearms ban in their jurisdiction could be charged in federal court under federal law and imprisoned.

Keep up the pressure. It's too easy to sit back & relax on an issue. Can lose what ground we have gained.

Here in Texas, a staunch 2nd Amendment defender, Debra Medina has really taken off. Medina did very well, answering questions and saying civilians should be armed as well as the milatary
Rick Guardisil, Toll Road Perry and KBH argued through the whole debate and did not offer answers.
A lot of people are afraid to rock the boat. KBH is backed by George H, Carl Rove and the Dick Cheney. She is backed by RINOS. Medina wants to do away with property taxes in favor of a sales tax, which would make 'everyone' pay. If Medina gets 50 % , she is good for the primaries.

What is her past? I don't trust anything any politician says anymore. Only their record!

P.S. Never mind! I just found her web site. No back ground in politics other than republican chair for her county. May be what we need - fresh blood. At least she doesn't appear to be a career politician. Proposes to do away with property tax which is something a governor can't do. So will need help from like minded legislators. Anyone know of any of those running? Otherwise, it's an empty promise.
