Anyone in the L.A. area know of anywhere I can ...

try out different guns?

Before I buy I want to fire as many as I can, being that I'm new to guns.

Thanks for any help!

are there and you can shoot everything, just buying the ammo.

I'm getting a handgun.
Are there any shooting ranges that you know of which are better than some others, or are they all pretty much the same?
Thanks for the info, btw.

Thumbs up Shooting Range

For handguns the indoor ranges are all pretty much the same. You pay by the hour to get a shooting lane. Prices vary according to the range and facilities. Distances are usually 0-25 yds. Some ranges have guns there that you can rent to shoot. Usually have cartridges available for sale, normally reloads. If you bring your own ammo you can't have semi-jacketed bullets. Look online for the closest one to you and give them a call for particulars. It'll save a lot of time and gas. Good luck. M.C.

I personally like "Firingline" range in Burbank. the prices are fairly reasonable and the rental fee is a one time fee, not "per gun" like other places. so for a one time fee you can try out as many of their guns as possible, but you are still paying for the rounds and the lane per hour. Just a thought.

Depending on where you are you might want to give Oaktree Gun Club a try here in Santa Clarita

Great facility
