Couple of questions...
1. Are such kits safe and effective? Do the manufacturers do them or are they after-market stuff. If after market, do they void the warranty?
2. What's involved the conversion? Barrel? Magazine?
3. What calibers are compatible with each other (ie...maybe you could swap a 9mm to a .40 but not to a .45acp)
4. And, lastly, could my new Springfield XD .40 S&W subcompact be outfitted for other calibers (if so which ones and how?)?

In Glocks all you need is a conversion barrel and the proper magazine
A G22 can take a 357SIG or 9mm
A G20 can take a 40S&W or 9x25mm Dillon
A G21 can take a 10mm
Compact and subcompact models can do the same. I am sure there are more, them are just examples.
Ever since I learned here GAP ammo is no longer available I am going to have a 10mm GAP barrel made for it (40S&W) Since Glock got working numbers of the pistol to market before S&W did SAAMI should have renamed it.
