Smile Best 1911

Unregistered: Sir; a most relative question! Best? isn't how I determine anything.
How does it fit me; or my lifestyle. Many 'well published'; well advertised; well thought firearms have deficiencys. Some; because; they do not fit the shooter.

It will be hard for someone to 'plunk' down 'hundreds' of dollars and not say "best"; when in fact; it may not fit them or their lifestyle.

A fellow member; takes the 1911's and does a ''happy dance'' on them; ''whatever'' you desire; will that make it the 'best'?

The gentleman I speak of; is very, very good; fitting, forming, adding, subtracting, his parts are 'top shelf'; his attention to detail "top shelf'', "I" having seen his 'parts' and his 'parts' at work.

Were you to sit down with him; and spend the proper 'listening' time; All firearms don't fit all people all the time.

Follow up when you can
Thanks for asking your question

Wilson Combat, Kimber, Les Bauer, I'm sure I'm leaving out some dang good ones, those just popped in my head immediate.

That is like asking who makes the best car.

I love my Springfield. Colt is also great, Kimber too. Spend a couple thousand and get a Wilson. Spend under $500 and get a Rock Island or Charles Daly. Taurus makes a great one in the mid $600's. There seems to be a 1911 out there to fit everyone's needs and budget. Can you be more specific?

The decision is really budget driven as stated.

Absolutely. I've heard good things about the S&W 1911 clone too. ("s&w 1911" sounds weird)

Because the 1911 is a tried and true design that's 100 years old, the list of good ones is huge and I don't think any could be called "the best". You should ask which ones you should stay clear of, that's a much smaller list.
