Well it appears that Ruger will be releasing a compact version of the SR9, as well as the GP-100 and Blackhawk chambered in .327 Federal Mag
To say I am a bit disappointed would be an understatement.

Yep, I was really looking forward to them announcing a new short action 30 caliber cartridge with the performance that rivals the 308 winchester.

| Well,
I just got off the Ruger website and it was a letdown unless you are a fan of the 9mm or the .327 Federal handgun cartridges.

well its a compact sr9, I like that idea. If the price is right I'll grab one. I've been very happy with my SR9.

ooh well Im happy.
Do I want a stainless or an all black SR9C?
hmmm video here
Review here. http://www.gunblast.com/Ruger-SR9C.htm
I might get one with a couple extra of the full sized mags with the sleeve. I dont need another carry piece but I do like the short look. No night sights though! LAME!
Oh well I have to wait 6 months to a year to get it anyways until its on the stupid handgun roster... At least by then there should be enough reviews out there as to whether its worth while or not.

I was a little let down too but I do like the idea of another GP 100. I was wishing for a 1911 like many others.

| For a lot of us, Ruger will be known as the first real competition that Smith & Wesson had in the "service revolver" and "hunting revolver" markets. I know Dan Wesson and Colt had some good designs too, but Ruger actually took a big chunk of those two markets away from Smith & Wesson. That was also before the auto pistol craze took over the law enforcement market and silhouette shooters took over the big bore market. When I think Ruger, I still think "revolvers" as in 3"-4" barreled .357 magnum GP100s and 5 1/2" barreled .44 magnum Redhawks. The idea of a .327 magnum and a polymer design just doesn't do it for me.

Well with gun sell's through the roof may be Ruger will come out with there own 1911 pistol and a line of pump and semi-auto shotguns.
They seem to be trien to grow there bussiness with new pistol's and an AR-15 rifle already, so who know's what they might market next.

I'd like to see them make a good .22 caliber pistol that doesn't cost a car payment to buy, that comes with some nice options and includes a scope rail.

Another rifle would have been nice, but that was a really big let down.

I was hoping for a ruger 1911. But I can get excited about a new gp100 and blackhawk. I don't have any use for a compact sr9, or anything "9" for that matter.

I think you will see a Ruger 1911 in 2011 and it will be a well kept secret until then. They will do something unusual to it, we'll all be sitting around wondering why no one had done it before, and it will be a big hit in the marketplace. Maybe they'll bring out a left handed version just for fun.

Ruger put themselves on the map and practically made mincemeat out of their competition because they could build quality performing guns and still sell them at a reasonable cost to the largest cross section of the public. Lately though, Ruger wants to sell at Kimber prices and still appeal to all people. The recent fate of the 12 gauge "Gold Label" side by side is a good example of what went wrong.

What I'd love to see is them bring back the .22LR SP101, but not the old style though they are nice.
I'd love one with fully adjustable rear sights and a full size grip and options of either a 4" or 6"bbl.
