Ruger "countdown clock" is ticking

Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc.

The count down clock is ticking, "What's Next"

Any takers?

Either a Ruger 1911 or a new cartridge: the .375 Ruger necked down to .30 caliber to form the .300 Ruger Magnum which should compete with the .300 Weatherby and .300 RUM....just a thought. On a different note, it would be awesome if they brought the .44 carbine back.

ahh I tried to post this right before you but the forums were down temporarily lol

people speculate its either a ruger 1911 or a new revised security six or a new option to the sp101.

Yeah, but everyone thought Ruger would neck the .375 Ruger down to .30 caliber last year, but instead they necked it up to form the .416 Ruger....so it wouldn't surprise me if they took that .30 caliber option.

Well,

all I can say (and I am not taking credit for anything) back when Ruger had the comment direct to the president thing going I did comment that the double action revolvers were really in need of some modernizing.

If Ruger makes a 1911 they will be another player in a very crowded market.

My money is on a 1911. They jumped on the AR bandwagon when it seemed foolish.

How about a pump action shotgun. IDT they make one and it could be a good addition.

I am hoping more choices in the LCR.

A 1911 would also be nice.

I'd have to agree with those who've already said it. I think what's next from Ruger will be a 1911...

That, or, they're going to delve into the polymer platformed .9mm, .40cal and .45acp pistols as Springfield, S&W have (in following Glock). lol

have to think that it will probably be a 1911 platform of some sort. they already have done the 300 idea with thier rcm. Maybe it is just the countdown to thier new catalog release.

A Ruger 1911 would be rather silly - it's a heavily glutted market already! I simply can't see them making enough sales to support it.
Same with the .30 caliber offering - it wouldn't do anything new. I fear it would be yet another good cartridge soon to be discontinued for lack of sales - especially if only Ruger makes a rifle to chamber it.

It is going to be a brand new and exciting new cartridge!!! It will be a short action 30 caliber offering with the ballistics and performance equal to the 308!!!!

I haven't heard or read anything pertaining to what might be coming. But I would like to see a compact version of the SR9. I prefer to carry a DAO so something along those lines would be great. Just checked their site, 16 hours left. Hope I can sleep tonight.

I think a Ruger 1911 would be a nice collection. 1911's are known for being tough, solid guns and Ruger's revolvers are about as tough as you can. Their autos have never really done much for me but I think of the 1911 as a different breed of auto. I will speculate that a Ruger 1911 would be quality like their revolvers rather than their other autos. Just my guess. We'll find out tomorrow.

Well, I waited 20 years in anticipation of a Ruger side by side double barrel shotgun. I believe that I even anticipated that it would be called the "Black Label;" probably a Freudian flashback to Johnny Walker Black Label or Carling Black Label beer (yuck). Anyway, I was close when they came out with a side by side and dubbed it "Gold Label." I also predicted that it had to be “reasonably” priced, which of course it was not. There are too many imports of reasonably good quality that will get the job done to go "stupid" on the price of a new product in the middle of a recession. Apparently, Ruger was smart enough not to throw good money after bad. Maybe the Gold Label will return with a more realistic price tag and make a go at a still attractive side by side market before somebody else fills the void.

I'd go with the .44 carbine and or a LCR in .44 spc when people get worried they tend to prefer big bores. Waterdog.

As tough of a gun as Ruger is I wonder how a Fully Automatic Ruger would go over.

as stated before,

1911 seems a popular internet speculation but meh... another drop in the already big bucket. If I was gonna get another 1911 I, probably wouldnt get one from them anyways.

As for the all the new cartridge chamberings for their revolvers...
I love Ruger Revolvers (have owned 2) but I dont hunt with them and I dont have a need for one that shoots some new fancy hard to find cartridge. Only one that really cought my interest was the .327magnum but you cant buy any gun that shoots it in my communist state yet.

Oh well. 11 hours 11 min. and 11 seconds to go lol.

Well, I hope they're bringing back the .44 carbine, or necking the .375 Ruger down to .30 caliber.
