I'm not sure your barrel is corroding. Green to blue-green patches are evidence of copper fouling being removed. Sometimes after letting the barrel sit for a while a layer of copper will come loose and show up on your patches. I have let Hoppe's #9 sit in a barrel for several days and got just what you posted - blue-green patches. What oil or product are you using for your final patch before putting away the gun? As to how long this will go on, that's anybody's guess, it depends on how much copper is inside the barrel.
Is there any visible pitting growing in your barrel? That is evidence of corrosion. That should not be happening in a cleaned, oiled barrel.
I shoot corrosive ammo through my mausers all the time. I use Wipe-Out bore foam. Fill the bore, set it in the cleaning carriage with the muzzle tilted downward, let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes, and then run dry patches through until they come out clean, then 2 passes with an oily patch, then dry patches till they come out clean, then 2 more passes with an oily patch, then dry patches again till they come out clean. Cleaning rod time of about 15 minutes, and I've let them set for months with no problems.
Becareful useing Amonia base cleaner's. If you allow this type to stay in a barrel for a prolong period it will get in the barrel pores and be corrosive.
i use remoil as my final patch. for cleaning i have used breakfree, rem oil , brass brushes ,brasso, hopps#9 ,and hopps benchrest formula made to remove copper, otis elite cleaner, 3in1 cleaner and windex and lastly foaming bore scrubber. i have not shot the gun yet this is its first cleaning sense the war i think. im looking into getting some jb bore bright and finishing compound stuff. i think it is slight pitting, when i look down the barrel i can see varry vary shallow divits in the groves but none on the lands. im glad that its probably not corrosin. now just to remove all of the copper.

Definitely give it the JB bore paste treatment I had to do that with a mauser I got that was totally filthty especially after I almost went through a can of gunslick bore foam trying to remove the copper fouling.
Be sure your Mauser isn't hanging around some of those nasty Mosin Nagant rifles in your cabinet. Those nasty Mosins could have given your Mauser some type of disease.
gandog56. its whatever the nazi troops were issued after 1939. it has not been fired after that to my knowledge, the gun has been in the family sense it was brought back.
kaybe, sadly it does not have a mauser buddy to hang with. only a mosin 10/22 and some shotguns.im working on gettin another tho.

HEY! My Mauser's arnt sick and they share a cabnet with what.... 7 Mosins but I do have to break up fights
And on cleaning rifles my dad wanted to try some parts cleaner in the barrel but I said no. Like I've read on here and what some of my grandpas friends have told me, sometimes a slightly dirty barrel is more accurate then a clean 1 just make sure it isn't corrosive dirty.

Its called Mosinitis and it is very contagious so be wary! My poor Mauser has to sleep with 2 M39's and a 91/30! I whish Mausers were avalible for 90 bucks online.

Wipeout leaves a residue that'll collect and roll down the barrel and coat the bolt in whatever it brings with it. I found this out when I found that the bolt on my 91/30 was covered in brownish residue; turned out to be errant cosmoline, from where the reciever and barrell met, that wipeout had dissolved and redeposited on the bolt. Now I always use another cleaner after Wipeout to remove the residue.
I've had good results with Wipeout. After it soaks and I push it out with a rod and patch I follow up with Clenzoil via a Boresnake. I really like the Boresnake/Clenzoil combination and since I've been using it I don't use the Wipeout much.

I'm so old that I used to buy three or four Turkish '98s for $45 each. They were junk, and the stocks often came in two or three pieces--but they were Bubbah's dream. Stick on a $20 new barrel, a little file and emery cloth time, a Laminated sporter stock for $45--and Oila! a $250 piece of junk. I still have a couple around.
Sounds like cheapblaster is right on here. Copper fouling sounds to be the culprit. How about some pics of this rifle? I don't believe you have it until I see some pics
