LOL!

That WAS quite clever Jerry and I must say had the shoe been on the other foot I would definitely have made the same remark!

I'm thinkin' friday I am heading out for the last stand... and if that don't work will go sunday on the "official" last shot before next November!

I got one doe tag... how hard can it be? LOL
Actually... its not hard if the durned deer would cooperate just a tad more!

FRIDAY is my official chance!

I feel so bad for Uncle Jack... almost 70, has ALWAYS wanted to hunt deer in the snow and hasnt.... finally gets his chance friday and had to go to hospital with a pinched nerve in his neck! Cant even shoot the gun. It really is a bummer as I was looking forward to taking him out on a dream hunt for him.

Good luck fellow last minute hunters like myself! Do or die weekend!

Final AFTERNOON!!! got a great spot next to a large jumble of fallen down trees about 20 yards off a split where two deer super highways converged. Had my seat nestled right up in the tree jam, my shooting stick ready to go and a 3 inch Federal Premium barns expander tipped sabot slug in my single shot H&R Ultra Slugger with 4X scope. Deer where everywhere! Hunters Heaven no lie! I counted 17 in one herd that ran throuh, but JUST out of range! Around 2:30 I heard some noise behind me and low and behold an 8 point buck was leading a herd of what I believed to be does and yearlings around 30 yards directly behind where I was set up for! If you are not familiar with the H&R 12 ga deer slug gun it is extremely heavy and probably worth more in scrap metal than I paid for it LOL! I managed to get contorted around and put my cross hairs right at the top of the shoulder blame and BOOM! That deer did a back flip onto its other side and died immediately from about a 25 yard shot! I placed my sights on what I believed to be a nice doe since it is antlerless only season. Turned out to be a real nice button buck! My hunting compadre joined me from his spot and as we were admiring my deer here comes the herd RIGHT at us LOL! I managed to Get off another shot and got a real heavy shoulder shot on what I believed to be a doe and IT turned out to be a nice button buck too! It made it about 20 yards and dropped dead. Both deer lay dead less than 30 yards from one another! What a great day! Wish Uncle Jack couldve made it out today!

Now I got 2 real nice deer hanging in my barn and aging for about 10 days! Will let gonna have a nice crockpot roast when we do the coyote hunt coming up!

Anybody else go out for last ditch chance today?
