Thumbs up Igold day

First
I was at the Belleville gun show Jan 9th. Looks like prices of guns, ammo are stablizing. The had a lot of ammo dealers that actually had large ammounts of primers. YES, I said primers. $34 for a thousand.

Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day aka. (IGOLD) day is scheduald for March 10, 2010. Springfield Illinois.

I enchourage EVERYONE to attend. I take the day off work to put my actions where my mouth is. This will be my 3rd attendence.

More information on this worth while event will be forthcoming.

I hope to see a lot of g&g members there. We should set up a location to meet. I would like that.

Spread the word.

Sounds good to me.

What time does the pre-march get together start? Anybody have any info on that day yet. I think I'll check Illinois state rifle association. They usually have the schedule.

I'm 2 hrs. away.

Bring a map to your place so I know how to find it on your " Cross Hair"s Annual Bullet,BBQ,Beer blast Extravaganza" Ha Ha Ha . I like the sound of that.

Better Travel:

Bus Info

Forget the hassle of parking near the Capitol! IGOLD will have buses going to Springfield from strategic locations throughout Illinois. Ride the bus, ride with your friends. This year there are additional buses in the Chicago area.

These gun rights organizations and retailers are sponsoring the buses to offset your cost:
TBD

Need more info now, or want to sponsor a bus? Contact the ISRA Office! On-line sign up will be available for most buses.
Take the Train!Amtrak has trains to and from Springfield and selected cities in Illinois along a line from Chicago to St. Louis. More info here.Apparel:Wear whatever you'd feel comfortable in while you are meeting your representatives, and don't forget you'll also be representing the rest of your fellow Illinois gun owners. Business casual is suggested, dress up if you want. We suggest that you don't wear any camo.Security:There are metal detectors in the Capitol Building that you will have to pass through on your way in, so please think ahead for this: no knives, novelty ammo keyfobs, etc. Bring proper identification. The less items we have that need to be scanned or opened and searched the quicker everyone can enter the Capitol Complex. If you can narrow that down to a wallet - all the better!Who:You, of course! ...and bring a friend. Even Better: bring two friends! © 2010 Illinois State Rifle Association

I'd like to make it, but would leave my partner severely hanging on a job. He urged me to pop a vac day and go, but I have a hard time leaving him hanging.

I understand Jerry, maybe you should just bring your partner to IGOLD and take the day LOL!

Depending on what time IGOLD wraps up I wouldnt be upset if anyone wanted to shoot some clays that afternoon!

Jack is meeting me at my house at 9:30 then we plan to get late b'kfast early lunch at truckstop around 10 then head over to the convention center after that.

Anyone that wants to meet us is more than welcome! I have a few friends that may make it in addition if they can get work wrapped up tomorrow.

This is def a great event that needs numbers for success! The more of us marching the bigger message we send. Even if you can only make the march which wont take but an hour or two out of your day we can use ya'!

Anybody needing directions let me know!

Mike

I wish it were that easy. Job teetering on the brink of not being there, I'll send my money and letters as usual.

I'm with you, Jerry. I'm so very glad that there were folks who could make it but after being out of work for ten and half months and only a couple of weeks into a contract gig, I just couldn't do it. Thanks to all of you how went and got to talk to the whizbangs in Springfield.
