What is the PR model? Mine is the DC, which means decocker. What's PR - pretty rowdy? Priced Ridiculously?
I like mine, the only part I would prefer is if it fit my hand better for a grab, point, and shoot situation. With time to aim the first one, I find it quite accurate and easy to make pretty small double or triple taps with - it just kind of hangs there on target.

Does the PR mean picatinny rail?I think it does, and is just describing the 2005 and up models,I think-if so,I do have a P95PR,it's the only pistol I own right now.I traded some Taurus revolvers to get the Ruger so I had a reliable name pistol for home defense. It jammed about 3 times since I got it with the first 150 rounds-I oiled the slide rails and cleaned it and it seems to be doing better. It's accurate and seems to hit all of what I aim at,mine likes to have the front sight covereing the target rather than to be below the target to hit point of aim.
I saw that you had started a thread regarding this pistol after I started this one. Sorry about that. I have not fired this one yet but it appears to be well made. I like the feel of it and think it will be a good one. I got it for the same reason as you, for home defense.I have heard that they may jam if you dont clean them after you buy them. Ive had the same type of problems with semi auto guns of all types . You gotta clean that factory storage oil out of them I guess. Thanks for the pointer on the aiming , Ill keep it in mind when the wife and I go to the range in a couple of weeks from now. Ill let you know how this one works out.
Thanks again

There's alot of P95 posts on here, nothing wrong with more, and it's natural to see alot because the P95 is the lowest cost Ruger you can buy-it's about the lowest cost 9mm you can buy period(excluding HI-point)But i'd rather have a Ruger than a Hi-point.My P95 had $350 marked on it,and I have heard of others buying it for $289 new. It's just a great deal to have an american made gun at such a low cost.I used to have a snub nosed .357 that I couldn't hit anything with-now I got 15 rounds ready to go,so I am no less gunned by going from a .357 to a 9mm,and I've even heard that the P95 will handle +P and even +P+ ammo.A +P 9mm round has MORE power than a .357 out of a snub nose revolver.I personally don't mess with the safety at all on this gun, exept to use it as a decocker while out on the range after I fire a couple of shots.I have the gun in my home with 15 rounds in the mag and the mag loaded-safety always off-so all I need to do if I need it is to rack one in and i'm ready.I more or less wanted a simple no frills gun to do a job and be rugged and reliable-so the P95 stepped up.I am and always will be a revolver guy,I drool over revolvers-they are beautiful-but for down and dirty work-nothing can beat an auto always ready with 15 in the mag!
Interesting. Mine is designated P95DC on the slide. It has the rail, the decocker, no safety, fires either double or single action. From what it says in the Blue Book, it's the same setup as the OP has but a little older. The rail became standard in '06.
