So my dad and I had gone to Gander Mountain yesterday to look at the gun selection. They had a decent selection there and it just spiked my already big thirst for guns even more.
So I want to go to a place near us called New Freedom Armory. Never been there before.
But they sell new and used guns and they have a range as well.
I was looking around at the semi auto pistols and revolvers and spotted some nice rifles up above and then I layed my eyes on something. It looked out of place to me and I could barely read the tag but I saw .50 cal. I knew it was a Barrett or a variant of one.
Well it was a Barrett. I had the guy lift it down and it was shorter then some I do believe. However what amazed me the most was the weight. These things are so heavy. I don't know the weight of it. But to me it felt a good 20-40 pounds worth of weight. However it felt amazing to be able to hold one, even if I'll never be able to buy one.
someone in the GA gun show circuit put together a Barret .50 to resemble the M82 from call of duty modern warfare. was only $10,000. i wanted to order 2 but there was a "limit 1 per idiot" sign next to it so i passed

I wish I had a Barrett. I wanted one but settled on a LAR Big Boar. It was stil $2000. I have fired it about 10 times and my son still has the scar across his nose from the scope. I told him to lean into it. It is a lot of fun to shoot, but you don't want to do it a lot.
I fired one once and I am not in a hurry to do it again.
What, no muzzle brake on it? They're brutal without a brake, but with one it's about like a bolt-action .30-06, IMO. The one I fired was an AR-50. I hadn't fired a rifle in 30+ years, and had never really done any target shooting with big centerfires, and I was hitting an 18"x18" steel plate at 600 yards with it. I was amazed!

That's cheap compared to the Barrett which had no scope or anything on it. I was holding an $8000 some odd dollar rifle!
it might of been a higher end model with a mag well & mag.
cool guns but way too spendy to shoot!
I'm sure most of you here have seen this video, if not....here it is again LOL. a guy shooting a 50 & got very lucky to walk away from the shot!
