Why would the NRA endorse him?

I know, I know, but with the Nov. Elections coming and with the NRA sending me a card saying they endorse him, Kirk Dillard, and me wanting to make sure I vote for the right guy and after I researched him a little and saw on the only gun issue he voted on, to ban large capacity magazines, he voted yes, why would the NRA endorse him and why would I want to vote for him?

Project Vote Smart - Senator Dillard on SB 1007 - Large Capacity Firearm Magazine Ban

As you'll see, if you click the link, the bill passed the Senate in 2007, I believe it didn't pass the House? but the guy the NRA is endorsing and asking me to vote for, voted YES, to ban them. WHY? Why is the NRA endorsing him? Is he the lesser of all the other evils? lol

I am in need of some input and or opinions regarding the Illinois Governor election...All the choices either seem to SUCK, or I can't find any information on them regarding the issues I am concerned with.

Yea, no kidding. Definitely a blue state huh? lol

But from what I'm finding out, none of the Republicans seem to be or are worth voting for. I may have to right a name in or vote for the one guy in/from the Green Party? lol

But as usual that would only take a vote away from someone.

Oh well...I still gotta do what I plan to do. And that's move and get the hell out of Illinois...I'm seeing Texas in my future. lol

I think we have reached the point where the Republicans and Democrats are just two sides of the same coin. I think we need different coin for the toss next round of elections.
The Republican party just asked me for money. I told them that they are not the solution, they have been and continue to be part of the problem.

Well, they seem to be endorsing the Kirk Dillard as well. And I find it hard to vote for a guy where the only gun issue I can find that he voted for was to vote YES and limit or try and limit my rights when it comes to magazine capacities.

Dillard was the Chief of Staff to former Governor Jim Edgar, starting in 1991, for Edgar's first term. He also served as the Director of Legislative Affairs to former Governor James R. Thompson. Further, Dillard is a former Judge on the Illinois Court of Claims (1987-1991), and a former member of the Republican Illinois State Central Committee. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Robert Crown Center for Health Education and is a partner at Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP, one of Chicago's oldest and largest law firms. In June 2007, he appeared in an Iowa TV ad touting his former state senate colleague and friend, Barack Obama. Dillard's appearance in the Obama campaign commercial has drawn ire from mainstream Republicans.

Sounds like a typical Chicago politician to me, despite the "republican" title.

Very true, Wolf, except there is a small bit of hope with the Repubcos...

BTW, they do not need money, but rather an extended enema....

Dillard was the best hope of beating Ryan and that's why they did that. At the time I guess that made sense. I think conservatives, gun owners in particular, are more involved than they counted on.

Looks like (at the time of this posting) Ryan will finish fourth in this race and Brady will squeak out a win.

That would be great for us.

As far as the constitutional offices are are concerned we don't.Only those who can be led around by the nose and lick the boots of the Crook County central committee are ever going to get on the ballot. The only reason there is more than one party on the ballot is strictly to deceive voters into thinking they have a choice when in reality there is none.

It seems the fact the GOP had and or let all the potential nominees run that they did may have hindered it for the top three?

It seems no one has been declared the winner yet, that I've heard anyhow, from either side/party???

Any Independent Candidates there? Sounds like a Rino. The lesser of two evils has gotten us into this mess.

They do a lot of that crap.
Here in wPa, they have endorsed John Murtha for yrs. I started following his voting record yrs ago. Where he could have squelched anti-gun bills at their conception he doesn't.
