Carcano Homepage: Italian Military Rifles and Carbines,,,,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carcano,,,,This might help if I got it right. They allow idiots like me to use computers. The year of your rifle should be on the barrel ring or the breach of the barrel. The best I can do on cal is one should be close to 1/4" and the other almost 2/3rd,s.They only had two cal,s,6.5 and 7.35. There isn't any collectors value as far as I know. ,,,sam.

I was already there and didnt see anythign that matched my Carcano properly. I know its is correct. On the stock it has FAT 1948 and on the purside of the chamber it has 1932 stamped into the metal.

Just load the pics into an album you create in your home page and just use copy and paste to add them to this thread.

Thanks everyone I am still unsure about my gun though none of the ones on either website had cleaning rods under the barrel as mine does and mine also has a FAT 1948 marking on the read of the stock which none of these had either.

Talking

FAT 1948 means it was reburbished by the arsenal in 1948, i am wondering if its a M-41.

pictures, and a more complete description would help. o.a.l. and barrel length etc.

Has it got a long barrel about 27" and a turned down bolt handle?
I was thinking like Papa G. A model 41. I've wanted to kick my own butt for not making an offer on one of these at a yard sale a few years ago.

Well I dont have it around right since I am at school, but I know its a short version. It has down turned handle. I tried to post pics and it didnt work out. I will send them to anyone thanks wants me too. Its in almost perfect shape for a gun thats that old. There is a date on the chamber between the receiver and the beginign of the furniture, that says 1932. I think its a date atleast.
