Now that I feel so much better and with all our HECTIC schedules I would love to try to plan a spring cabin fever blow out!
I was thinking of hosting a shoot and potluck lunch on a Saturday, Sunday or maybe holiday day off? Would love some input for anybody interested.
I got plenty of room to shoot and before the corn is planted would LOVE to do some LONG range targets, shoot some clays and whatever else goes! If anybody is interested I think it would be a great time for all us IL or any gun and gamer interested in coming to it.
We all know Illinois weather can throw us some monkey wrenches but thats why I want to try to plan now. If you have a days that work better than others or particular weekends lets try to narrow it down and all get together! I think it would fun to get to meet some new guys and talk to a few of you I already have had the pleasure of meeting/shooting or hunting with!
Family more than welcome, thinking potluck, will have grills going etc.
Hope to make a reality guys!

From what I have met from the guys here on G&G its some honest to god real people and good guys/gals! Really refreshing in this day and age! Chris really created a great community when he designed this website and I encourage all that can to donate ten bucks for full membership and support!
I think we can get a nice small turnout for this event... I tell ya'll what, if Jerry can make it and brings his special chili... its worth the trip just for that!!! I can vouche for that firsthand! Plus that guy can throw some wicked clays! He claims it makes you a better shot LOL!
I got a whole nother deer frozen that I will process this week and may have to throw a brisquet on the smoker for the day! Plus I'm sure the little woman will wow us all with some of her good cookin' and garden veggies!
I think it would be a great time and all of us could use some field time to shake the winter blahs!!!

Actually got a little sunshine yesterday and my buddy brought his AR and another friend who for some unknown reason bought an Uzi at the last gun show came over and I got the Mosin out for a little bit! Got a bit of trigger finger exercise anyway LOL! Good for the soul!

That would be great pool! Peoria isnt too far of a trip and you are more than welcome! Were just a bunch of country guys and ex/current military guys who like to shoot the breeze or targets and sometimes both at once!
Nothin' fancy for sure just blow off the dust from the winter!
hope we can get a few of us together... if nothing else Uncle Jack will entertain everyone! And if we are all real nice and Jerry can make it... he makes some of the best deer chili I this side of chicago... oh wait they aint got no good deer chili in chicago... Jerry makes some of the best deer chili I have ever had the pleasure of being introduced too and I have ate some deer chili in my time on this rock!

Hey Gan if you can make it... I can promise there WILL be a Mosin presence! Cynikal and his boys will hopefully be there sporting their Mosins with us buddy! And by then with his help I will have a few more MN's to add to the firin' line!

I'm all about it CH. I'm retired from the ANG in June That frees up another weekend. I've got some install projects coming up at the plants that may eat a few weekends here and there. Would just have to take a stab at it. May or June are pretty nice months. Not to worry, will bring deer chili

People think I'm paranoid because I own guns. If I own guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?
Litchfield is about one hour drive from my house. That sounds great to me a May or June is perfect shooting weather and hopefully (weather cooperating) got all the plants in the ground by then! Plus thats good smoker weather, will have to get some good chips and do a roast and loin of deer. Heck may have some crappie and bluegill too!
Always look forward to seeing ya' Jerry but I will hold you to that chili! LOL Dont know wether I am looking forward to seeing you or that crockpot of chili more buddy JK!!

target shoot sounds pretty good,im somewhere north of you ,lasalle co. streator,ill north and east up 51 past bloomington to 18then east.I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT SOUNDS FUN AND WILLGET A CHANCE TO MEET SOME CHAT FRIENDS. Dave

I am thinking since a few of you will be driving a little ways that maybe we should plan on meeting here around 10am since just target shooting? Then maybe eat around noon or one, and everyone is welcome to stay as long as you want then. Shoot all afternoon or until I am too broke to shoot anymore LOL! Ideas?
I plan on doing some clay busting and getting some long targets and short setup. I think we could all use a day out with good folks to get the cabin fever shook!
If anyone wants to bring an extra clay thrower it would be nice. I have a mechanical that works ok, but tend to use the hand thrower most of the time... Jerry has a pretty good arm making them clay birds fly all sortsa ways! LOL
Looking forward to it, hope to get a date nailed down pretty soon so we can mark our calendars! Will email directions and address for those of you with gps

Sure sounds like it would be a great time. At this point I can't say one way or the other. But I'll keep it in mind as well as I'll also keep an eye on this thread.

LOL yes Trigger halfway decent weather is a MUST! but after the winter we have been through a day in the mid 40's would seem like heaven! HA
I figured if everybody brought a dish or something we would just have us a potluck type of lunch. And I will provide some tea, coffee, soda etc... I am a big Koolaid drinker.. LOL have been since I was a youngin' so I am sure there will be pitchers of that too! HA
