Hey everyone, I recently picked up my first Enfield No4 MK1. I was hoping someone could give me so information. I'd mainly like to know where this rifle was manufactured.
Serial # U1481X
Below the serial# I have what looks like the letter M and 1942 (I'm assuming year of manufacture) The rear sight is a flip up ladder aperture labeled MarkII. On the underside of the butt stock near the trigger guard it's stamped H.M. Co LTD. The serial# on the barrel matches the receiver. The magazine does not have a serial#. Any kind of information you could give me would me greatly appreciated.
