homemade gunrest

Don't know if this is the right place for this,if not please move it to the appropriate spot.

Anyway,I ordered a gunrest quite some time ago and it was out of stock.
Not to be dismayed,I retreated down to my workshop and after rummaging thruogh all the nuts, bolts, wood scraps, etc.(you know, all the stuff our wives keep telling us "what do you need all this junk for?Throw it out!").

Here is the result.
Forgive the pix they're not the best quality.

Surprisingly it works too!

Very pretty. Personally, I always found a couple of shot bags loosely filled with sand to function well. I never have to worry about scratching the finish on them, either. What will you use for a front bag? My official factory made Outers (it was a gift) set has a neat leather bag with two wings on it to hold narrow and round fore ends. It has a similar leather rear bag. I don't like the leather because it can catch and hold little bits of grit that can scratch a fine rifle.
