^^That's comparable to what the ATF just did.
Airsoft guns are no where near capable of being able to be converted. I've torn those bad boys apart more than I cared to and they are no where near the standards of real guns. (I used to airsoft because it was the only legal way my friends and I could shoot each other and not have to visit the hospital) | try those red rider bb guns

Those bb guns are different than airsoft guns though. The bb guns can be powered up more easily. (not that I've ever done that)

Trust me having built many myself and bought a few and got a few for free there is absolutely no way to convert one of these to fire real ammunition where they are almost the same size as the real thing the exact specs are too far off and the frame would shatter.

We should be pleased that while the ATF plays with toy guns, that's less time for harassing gun owners.

If these items, in present condition, do not meet the criteria to be classified as firearms, where does the ATF have any jurisdiction? It seems that the CPSC (Consumer Products Safety Commission) was created and exists for this kind of situation.

Nope, the guns they seized were "WE" replicas, which don't have trademark markings on them at all...
Yet more bureaucracy bullshit...
