1911A1 Sticky Trigger

Purchased a 1911A1 that someone had tried to accuraize (NM Barrel, new trigger, etc). At the range today several times the trigger did not return all the way out and I had to manually pull it out of the frame to allow the gun to fire. I now have the weapon apart on the work bench and it appears the trigger is sticking in the frame.

Any suggestions on how to loosen it up? My first guess is to put prussion blue on all the contact points and lightly start filing the trigger where the blue is removed? Another thought is to put some carborendum on the assembly and work it back and forth multiple times. I am new at this so any suggestions would be helpful!

Thanks

It sounds like the person that had the gun before you did not properly fit the trigger.

Well,

I would remove the trigger, take a good look for wear marks, then slightly
remove some metal where you have wear marks.

Fixed the trigger!

Coated the mating parts with Prussian Blue and the cycled the trigger several times, then filed the high spots. After three cycles the trigger works like a charm!

Thanks for the help!

Also..

Since the file marks were visible and unsightly I touched up the file marks with Birchwood Casey Cold Blue and it came out like new!
