How to rebuild a AK plane, with duct tape

Best duct tape story ever!
During a private "fly-in" fishing excursion in the Alaskan wilderness, the chartered pilot and fishermen left a cooler and bait in the plane.

And a bear smelled it.
This is what he did to the plane.

The pilot used his radio and had another pilot bring him
2 new tires, 3 cases of duct tape, and a supply of sheet plastic.

He patched the plane together, and FLEW IT HOME!

That's a pretty ingenious pilot!!

Since there was no structural damage to the frame, and only the cloth was ripped off, it was a smart fix.

Fixing things

Bears do that allot more oftin than you think.
Looks like a bit to do to ferry flight that bird back home, looks like Mr Bear bent the RH horizontal stabilizer so they did have structral damage.

Some use shrink wrap to cover large areas, the stuff used to secure items to pallets for shipping.

i just watched myth busters yesterday and they had a show on ducktape. they picked a car useing it as rope instead of regular cable and it held. they then made the breach for a cannon and it held. it was really neat to see just what this magical tape can do.it was after all created by the military for use in repairs and what ever else they needed. that plane is probably more safer with a ducktape shell than it was with the regular cloth shell.

Yeah don't lean on anything because they will have to spray you down with brake cleaner to remove you from the aircraft.
