if you want to know about Islam, what they believe then read the koran. there are sights on the internet where you can read the whole thing and then you may decided what you think about the religion and may learn somthing in the process. That said I will relate a story from my own personal life.
When I was working on my undergraduate degree my wife, kids and I lived on the university campus. A big guy from Nigeria lived across the way from us. He also worked at nights with me at the same place. We both were really into computers and guns and would eat our lunches together at night. we studied together and I was often in his home and him in mine as we helped eachother build and work on computers. I got to meet his family, at least that part that was here with him, he met mine. I helped him procure a couple goats for religious meals that he would have for holidays. he tried to get me involved in a couple money scams with him that I teassed him about, we rode to work together, joked and were good friends. Then one night at work we were just sitting at lunch talking and he turned to me and said "Dave, I like you. So let me tell you this, no matter what, never think that a Muslim is your friend." he had the most serious look on his face I had ever seen. then he just went right back to what we were talking about. I have never forgotten that at the time I knew nothing about Islam, jihad or any of what they belived in. A couple years later he graduated and moved away. I missed his conversation but what he had said always stuck in my mind.

I hear you! I once worked with a Muslim. He was very friendly. We sat together sometimes. Once he asked if he could tell me about Islam. I didn't know anything about it so I agreed. He came to a passage that said in short; "To kill the unbeliever and reap allas' blessings" or something akin to that. I asked him who the unbelievers were and he said it was Christians, Jews or anyone else who won't worship allah. He said that technically, If I didn't convert to Islam (I'm Christian), he would be "technically" obligated to kill me! I told him that "from this moment on, "technically", you should sleep very lightly and be wary of anything that goes bump in the night from now on as I know where you live". He quit the next day and I never saw him again. I can't tell you how infuriated I felt inside even though I remained calm. I haven't trusted ANY muslim since then. That was 1979.

Tolerance is whats wrong with this country today. Political correctness demands that we be tolerant, accepting, submissive, to the point that ANYTHING is ok. Our fore-fathers werent tolerant. It seems the new socialist America demands tolerance of everything except patriotism and conservatives.
So, I'll say it, since most wont: ahem.... Islam's goal is the destruction of anything NOT islamic. So-called "Good muslims" are meaningless. They aren't even accepted by the standard bearers of their religion. THEY are considered infidels as well. The global caliphate is their ambition and they won't stop until they have it, or they are buried in the ashes of history. I'm hoping the rest of the world wakes up and opts for the second option. And yes, by the way, I have read the Koran and keep a copy in my library. What the book says is irrelevent to the radicalized interpretation that is accepted in most of the world. Just as what the bible actually says, and what televangelists SAY that is says are often two very different things.
If you are a devout Jew, or Christian, you are a target of ridicule, shame, and hatred. But, for some twisted, perverse reason, being a fundamentalist Muslim is "just the way they are and we shouldn't judge them." BS. Kiss my.... you know what.
I have no problem killing a Muslim to keep this country safe anymore that I have killing a Jew, Christian, Athiest, Buddhist, or Hindu if they were to become our enemy and attack this country. My problem is playing games with our enemies. Either kill them or don't. Quit the game playing, rule following, media appeasing way we conduct war on our enemies. But that'll never happen...........
Everything I learned about Islam, I learned on 9/11. I will be friendly and courteous to anybody who is a Muslim, maybe even laugh and joke with them, but I will NEVER trust them... They can keep their right to free speech, and say whatever they will, I don't care. But their fist stops before it hits me in the face. They can't force me to do anything.

The bottom line is simple.
The TEACHINGS of the Koran.
