use to make a tent out of a tarp.....use to to go from tree to tree and drape the tarp over then tie the tarp ends off to keep from blowing away.

Parachutes!

It's so versatile that it's useful functions are only surpassed by duct tape.

OK, I took the easy way out on that.

Here's one that I bet most folks have not thought of - glue substitute. Yup, light it with a flame, get a melted blob collecting on the end of the cord, then touch it to the parts you want to stick together. Not the best glue around, but out in the middle of nowhere, it's hard to buy Elmer's.

Covering the handle on a/your knife, hand-made key chains, shoe laces, tying things down, and many, many more.

More uses listed here:

Make a fire starter. Boot laces, letting water seep out of a small spring into a bottle, snares.

I use it to make lanyards for knives and other survival type tools for one.... there are more uses than anyone could imagine. Alot of survival, military, and hunting/fishing applications.

Its selling point is its strength AND its suppleness... it rolls or folds up very small and easily fits in any pocket, even at lengths of 30 feet or more.

"Paracord

Anything, you need lashed down, snared, tied up, or hog tied.
Only limited to your imagination.

Anyone who had been a grunt, has used it for bootlaces.
And securing things, to rucksacks. ETC.

Hey Ten,

I have done this before too.

Also have gotten, a couple burns this why. LOL

Use to tie important items(compass, flashlite, etc)to your pack/vest so if you drop them you won't lose them.Tie a lantern to a tree branch.

Darn handy stuff to have on hand in general, a must for survival in my book.

Prusiking lines in an emergency or
doubled up as a bail out line for two or three story building, again in an emergency.
Bowstring
snares
inner cores woven into a fishing net
make your own bore-snake
inner cores as heavy sewing thread

Just a few I could think of off hand.

You can tie a goose neck in each end of a poncho liner and have a hammock. I should warn you though, if you try this, make sure you have good knots. It took me a while and a few spills before I figured it out.

Also, learn to daisy chain it and you can have a full 100' length in a pack and never havew to deal with those tangled birdnests.

if your missing an alice clip or molle straps you can tie the items down with the cord

innner strands for fishing line...

inner strands for extra tie downs...

We were forced to use it as "idiot strings" if we forgot or lost a piece of equipment in tech school. There were guys with 5-6 things tied to themselves in various places! It worked! After seeing one guy running around with his helmet tied to his belt, I never forgot or lost any of my equipment!
