I understand the reluctance to complete the form.

The problem with NOT returning it is, it will cost taxpayers $17 per hour for enumerators to track us down and ask the questions in person.
Many (not all) of the enumerators hired by our wonderful government can barely read and write. Most need help from the test givers to answer the very basic test questions! I don't want to pay these idiots one penny to get my answers. This thing has already cost us enough $$$$!
Save the money and send in the form.

According to the United States Constitution you are only to let the counters know how many people live at your address. This is to caculate (congressional districts) how many people will represent you in congress.

I have census records of my family for the past 120 years. There is a lot of information in them, none of which I think is overly private and certainly nothing to get up about. Now, where did I put my tin foil hat?

Got mine over the weekend. They really do have all the answers to most of the questions. And the ones they didn't, I figured it wasn;t worth raising any red flags or pissing someone off by not answering them. lol

10 questions took all but 3 minutes. Even less time for even less questions for the others in the household.

That's pretty cool. I'd love to have any info on my family from that far back. But then seeing as how my dad's mom and dad had an Italian aranged marriage and he came over before she did to get established and to get away from the mafia, my relatives haven't been here that long anyhow.

By the way, "came over" from Palermo, Sicily, Italy. and yes, the mafia at that time was very heavy and recruiting...

On a funnier side of things, my dads mom wasn't thrilled with the arranged marriage, openly said, in Italian of course and my dad translated, she was NOT happy with the marriage and DI NOT LOVE HIM, at first. From that came the standing hoke anytime the family got together.

The joke was my Grandma loved to embarrass Grandpa by reminding him she wasn't thrilled with the "arrangement", at first anyways, because she did grow to love him and deep down did (I mean, if you don't love someone you don't have 7 sons with them) and always told him, and us, "Dumb SumminaBitchin' boat (meaning the one he came over on, lol), wish it woulda sunk. Spoken in angry Italian woman of course. lol Ya' had to be there.

I answered mine, The only change I made was to put caucasion down as race. It seems the stupid savants that designed this form think vietnamese, filipino, etc are races. Makes you wonder why they wanted that info, doesn't it. Also wonder why the latino question. Maybe mammy Obammy wants to give them 2 votes.

I answered it and didn't give them my phone number.

1. They wouldn't reach anything but my voicemail during the day anyways. I am sleeping and wont wake up to a SILENTED phone going off.

2. If I was for some reason awake and did answer and they told me who they were I would just say sorry no thanks and hang up.

3. If they don't like that I didn't put my phone number down and have someone come to the door all they are going to get is a door slammed in their face, period. Because if they do pester and ring the doorbell till someone answers they are going to have a very pissed off multiple gun owner running down the stairs to tell them back the F off and if they bug me again after I say goodday to them, then the local LE might be called.

The information they asked for was stupid and pointless. The government already has this info.

To me it was no big deal. They have it all anyways, and besides, even for my number, name, and address all they have to do is a whois on one of my domain names, and trust me, they already know all of that anyway. I simply filled it out and dropped it in the mail and I am done.

Besides, do you really not want to have everyone in your area counted, especially if you live in an area with mostly conservative people who will vote conservatives in? I would think you would want everyone counted in that area for districting purposes. The ones I would rather be undercounted are the people who elect liberals!

Same here. The information is already on file at the IRS, except the phone number.

I don't need to be called by them if I already answered the questions.

And if they already have my phone number, then I don't need to give it to them again. They can look it up.

Exactly and the funny thing is, if someone looses their phone by the time they get these forms and gets a new phone and new number then what good is the old number anyways.

If they call they will get a rude no thank you and I will hangup. They have the information that's all that matters. I am sure someone there can figure out what my form says.

You can bet they're serious this year. They want to make sure to count every illegal in the country so the "progressives" can pander to them and get more votes.

I'm sure mine will be shredded because I'm white, working and law-abiding.
