Well, the yankee gummint got around to sending the census form to our house. We got on of the short forms. On that, for the household the gummint wanted to know the following:
1. How many people live here full time?
2. Do you own the house on a mortgage, own it free and clear, pay rent, or live rent-free?
3. What's your phone number in case we can't read something on this form?
For the individual, the gummint wanted the following for each person:
1. Name
2. Age as of April 1, 2010.
3. Date of Birth.
4. Ethnicity.
6. Do you live at this address full time; and if not, where else do you live - like college, jail, military barracks or part time with other parent in child custody settlement, or 'seasonal home,' meaning summer cottage you live in for more than weekend getaways.
And for anyone except Person No. 1,
5. What is your relation to person No. 1?
Not terribly intrusive at all, this short form. The long form and the ones the Census Bureau asks in the non-decennial years do have a lot of questions that deserve a "None of your business!" answer.
However, take note: the cover envelope plainly warns, "YOUR RESPONSE IS REQUIRED BY LAW" in big, black letters. Do you take this as attempted intimidation?
Yeah, I just got mine, and it looked kind of strange, to have a threat on the outside of a census envelope. I got the long form, as if I might have fourteen or more people living under my roof. What business is it of theirs, what color I happen to be? Maybe I shouold write in "martian"!!!!!!!!! LMAO! Oh yeah, and I'm "green"!
Well if it catches ILLEGALS then, fine. It's not much to worry about.
That would be nice, but they don't ask about your status! You should know by now that they have no interest in punishing illegal trespassers in this country.

We got our short form yesterday. I think it asks if we were residents at the given address on April 1st. We are going to be gone that day. Should we check no? You know, since we aren't going to be there on that day? LOL
I liked what Rush Limbaugh suggested under the section for race he suggested checking 'other' and writing in American.
Works for me.
