When you ask for a military discount, the cashier has to get a register override by a supervisor. This can take a minute or two sometimes. While everyone enjoys a discount, be smart. If the store is really busy and you're only buying a couple bucks worth or stuff, don't hold up the line.
If the discount becomes a problem for the stores it could end as easily as it started.

Exactly right. I only use it for larger purchases. It's not worth my time for small ones, besides I don't want to ruin a good thing by over use.

Pardon me but as the ball cap says I am retired gimmee my damn discount, LOL truth is many places will give you a discount if you ask Active, retired or reserves. I ask most everytime if there is a discount and most times I get it. In my mind I served and I earned so have many others . My advice is ask everytime, you'll be surprised at how many WANT to say Thank You for your Service if given the chance. It feels good not that it ever is all that much money but that they are willing to do it as thanks for what vets have endured over the years. Yeah it feels good nuff said
