President Obama and John McCain have left us no choice -this March we return to the border locked, loaded and ready to stop each and every individual we encounter along the frontier that is now more dangerous than the frontier of Afghanistan.
Dangerous yes, but I dont know about that dangerous. When the illegals start laying IEDs on the boarder trails and launching mortars into Arizona ill reconsider.

MCDC volunteers will work under an entirely different SOP; we will approach our duty as citizens as we should - we have a zero tolerance for any and all violations of our border and we will forcefully engage, detain, and defend our lives and country from the criminals who trample over our culture and laws.
I hope these guys have good lawyers. As right minded as they may be defending their land I can foresee lots of problems arising out of this because of organizations like the ACLU and others.

When they go to detain someone for simply trespassing over someones land and the person flees or runs away what are they going to do? Chase after them and "forcefully" detain them?

Dont get me wrong here Im not saying Im all pro illegals as Im anything but, Im just saying that regardless of how righteous an organization's intentions like the minutemen can be im not naive enough to believe that no big well funded pro amnesty group wont try every legal action possible to work against them.

First, federal law does not allow citizens' arrests in cases dealing with the transport of undocumented immigrants. The relevant federal provision specifies that "no officer or person shall have authority to make any arrests" pursuant to the statute, other than officers and employees of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and "all other officers whose duty it is to enforce criminal laws." [See 8 U.S.C. section 1324 (3)(B)(c).]
Second, under section 8 U.S.C. section 1324, an undocumented person cannot be prosecuted for conspiring to transport him- or herself within the United States; only the person who is responsible for the transportation -- the coyote -- can be charged with a felony. [See Campbell v. U.S., 47 F.2d 70, 71-72 (5th Cir. 1931); Emmanuel v. U.S., 24 F.2d 905, 906 (5th Cir. 1928).]

In my opinion, that is seriously screwed up.

However, Arizona law allows for citizen's arrest, and detention, when the suspect commits a felony that the arresting citizen witnesses or when a citizen knows that a felony has been committed and has reasonable grounds to believe that the suspect committed it. [See A.R.S. section 13-3884.] This law does not distinguish between a state or federal felony.

Those that write the laws are more concerned with our behavior than protecting America.

I wish we'd kick all the lawyers out and then let Americans defend our own soil by all means necessary. But I guess that's too radical for this whole one-world 60s style love fest we're in these days.

Red face

I wish them well, and will be cheering for them.

BUT..... the first time they kill an ILLEGAL ALIEN (even in self-defense), all Hades will break loose. The Libs will get their panties in a wad and bring the full force of <bad> law against the Minutemen. Will the NRA and other pro-gun organizations help in their legal defense...?

I need to see if they have a site to donate money to.

If I was in better health, I'd take some time off work and help them. Short of that, I'll try to support them the only way I can.

Has anyone else donated before? Do they even take money (probably a dumb question)?

I commend these folks for wanting to defend the country, but I'm afraid they are going to end up being the ones behind bars. The feds won't do a thing to stop the illegals, but will pull out all stops to prosecute anyone with the guts to go and protect the border. This should prove to all of us, that they want the USA to fall, so they can do a remake, which doesn't include the voice of the people. Welcome to the future, they aren't listening to us now, are they?

18,000 people have been killed in Mexico this year in Calderon's 'War on Drugs'. That's more than Iraq! With the health care bill almost passed and then the Immigration bill and Jobs bill, they are pouring across the borders at alarming rates so their gang buddies can get citizenship and set up shop here. Since the Vagos motorcycle gang was cracked down on in California, the police there have been running into deadly booby traps set on cars and fences and doors. They are trying to kill our police. This is terrorism, and they need to sent to a military tribunal and executed.
The call for Americans to defend this great country is indeed noble, for the Fools on the Hill won't.
They want these socialist people here to keep them voted in. America has finally figuired out what his word change means. You go Arizona, get behind Sheriff Joe and sweep them out. We are trying to do the same in Texas, a call needs to go out here to. We didn't want it to come to this, but what else do you do, cave in and let them abduct, rape and kill our citizens like they do in Mexico? NO!
These radicals will not listen to the people they hate. They will not stop until we drive them out. They mean business, they hate our freedoms and will do anything to conquer the U.S.

Yeah. When THEIR problems, whatever they may be, bleed over into OUR country it gets rediculous. Makes one wish we had a country like Canada at our Southern border as well as the northern. That way we might not have as bad a problem.

Historically the bodies of pirates (criminals) were left hanging in sight of ships to remind would be criminals of the penalty they would receive.

I recently read a fiction book featuring Remo Williams who stood against a Mexican invasion on US soil. The solution in that story was to remove the limbs of each smuggler and stack them up in piles along the smugglers routes. The heads of those attackers were placed on pikes along the border to serve as a warning to all who considered aggression against the US.

Our laws do not allow this type of highly effective and ancient warning. Given recent events against US citizens in Mexico, perhaps our laws should change to make this sort of defensive action legal.
