Top 10 Crime Weapons for 2000

Top Ten Firearms used in Crimes for 2000 according to the BATF and TIME magazine.....
TonyRogers.com | The Top 10 Guns Used In Crime - BATF Statistics

1. S&W .38 revolver
2. Ruger 9mm semi-auto
3. Lorcin .380 semi-auto
4. Raven Arms .25 ACP semi-auto
5. Mossberg 12ga pump shotgun
6. S&W 9mm semi-auto
7. S&W .357 revolver
8. Bryco Arms 9mm semi-auto
9. Bryco Arms .380 semi-auto
10. Davis .380 semi-auto

Although this is a decade old, it's interesting that Glocks, SIG's, AK's or AR-15's aren't in the top ten. The anti-gun folks would sure have you believe they would be.

The first handgun I ever bought is a Ruger P-85. That's the only gun I have that's on that list.

I guess that means I'm only 10 percent likely to commit crime?

Anyway, it's shocking (not really) that cheaper guns dominate the crime report.

These are all inexpensive throw-away weapons, aka Saturday night specials. If you are a poor PoS you don't spend 1000 bucks on a nice gun to go rob a liquor store of its 250 in change in the cash drawer.

I don't know how 'cheap' they are, TGF. I'd have to say Nos. 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 are not cheaply made, although you can sometimes find one for not a lot of money.

I own only one gun on the list: No. 1, a S&W Model 10 revolver in .38 Special. It was a police carry gun and the previous owner installed custom grips. It fits me like it was custom-tailored to my hand. It didn't cost much because revolvers are out of fashion - but the worst shot I have ever made with it was in the 8 ring at 9 o'clock.

Cheap does not have to mean bad. BAFTE would do better to look at statistics on how many of the goblins carrying the cheap guns ended up on slabs courtesy of law enforcement or citizens defending themselves and their property.

Cheap? Has anyone tried to buy a new S&W revolver lately? They definitely are not CHEAP, that's for sure!

But, yes, I get the point. You can find a ratty, beat-up old S&W to trade for a few rocks of crack or some heroin almost anywhere (I guess).

I've never even heard of Bryco Arms.

I'll bet the updated list would include the High-Point pistols........

Most Homeys that show up at our public range carry H-P pistols.....

Incorrect. Allow me to introduce to you the PELOSI model FEINBOXER series 1.

WARNING: DO NOT insert M&Ms into the marshmallows as the state of Kaliforniastan will deem it an assault weapon with "cop killer" marshmallows.

i dunno the list is a couple years old and i dont see a wannabe gangbanging loser buying his own firearm probably stole it from someone who actual works for a living.
