hoppe's #9 inside and out works for me, but i keep a dehumidifier in my gun/ammo/reloading room. if i didnt have the setup i did i would probobly try rem oil on the outside after i cleaned them and let them dry.
ED's Red Cleaner. Pull it up. WD-40 is a good cleaner. I use Lee lube, and Laquer thinner cuts the wax. I use a good gun oil for the press and dies, and a little gun grease for my turrets.

I clean 'em with cheap Walmart spray carb/break cleaner or mineral spirits and a paper towel. Protect 'em with the "red" part of Ed's Red, the Automatic Transmission Fluid. It's a great light gun and fishing reel oil, good film strength, much better rust protection than WD-40, doesn't dry to leave a gooey film. Cheep too.
"It was the one Dan Gurney advertised. I plan on trying it, "
Since it was a paid advertisement you can be sure it's not going to be inexpensive. But it likely will be almost as good as inexpensive Walmart ATF! I have a bottle of Duralube, it's okay but ...?
I own one Lee 3 psc die set for my Marlin lever action in 375 big bore. I've been wondering what people that reload use to protect there die's.
My hunting buddy has quiet a few dies in his shop that go thru tempurature changes that I feel can't be good for them.
My dies are on this desk by this computer so there in a controled enviroment, I'm not concerned they'll rust.
But I would like to put some kind of protectant on them...A.H
