modifying an image for your avatar

guys dont use paint it sucks, there is a good piece of software
http://www.irfanview.com/ and its free, works well you can modify any image jpeg bitmap what ever, you can modify by pixel size and keep your aspect ratio, or sharpen, any thing you want to do, i use it for my crummy avatars, I have had a couple of proplems with it, but if you right click on any image and copy you can manipulate any image easy as pie, so simple its scary

It will take over your paint options, and your windows image options, but its a lot better, just so you know, but allows access to windows image properties, and paint properties, I have seen no difficulties, and is windows xp compliant
