.50 BMG ammo can prices

What seems to be the going rate these days in your area for these cans in good condition, as in rust free? I found a guy selling 60 of these for $5 each in good rust free condition, and will likely buy 20. This seems like the mail order price 3 or more years ago, with these cans being much harder to come by these days. Thanks

That ain't bad. I just paid $8 and change for one of them with a little rust, but that's a milsurp store in the middle of nowhere.

Where in Iowa are you?

I am in Des Moines, but the guy selling them is in Ackworth, so not far from the metro area. He has 60... do you want some? I can pick them up and we can figure out a place to meet afterwards.

Ha.... not really looking for the ammo in the can... just the can. The cans in all sizes seem to have gone thru the roof. I have noticed the larger cans like 40mm grenade cans and 20mm cans have not gone up as much as the .50 cal cans, all seem to have gone up close to or well above 100% in the last 2 years. Not a bad return.

BTW, that is not a bad deal on AP .50 BMG ammo from grafs. The last time I bought any I was paying around $5 per round.

Around Houston 50's are going for about $12 - 15. At the shows you can find them on Sunday for $11 or so.

These cans were fairly dirty, with lots of bird crap on them. I used a brush I use to clean the roof of my van and a bit of auto wash. They cleaned up nicely, and need no painting. Not bad at $5 each. Now I just need the ammo to fill them up.

If anyone in Iowa needs any, send me a PM and I'll forward the guys phone number. He has at least a hundred more sitting in his barn.

50 bmg

I am glad I bought my 250 a few years ago. I paid $1.13 each for the first 150.
