Haven't been shod. Used to run ours on the pasture barefoot until time to bring in and put to work. Then it was time to shoe them. Had one that liked to lean on you when you picked up a rear hoof, and several that liked to bite when your back was turned.

thanks Russ, we have a TW and a pony. the TW is shod because of the hilly and rocky nature of our property. the pony is not. maybe i'll win the lottery and get a nice level rock free pasture for them.
