Two more sleeps to go

Then it will be opening morning of the New Zealand gamebird season can't wait and very excited about my first season of duck and Pheasant hunting. Bit of a bummer that buck gardner did not come to do a seminar closer to where i live but was still good to see him on television so I guess he will be going out for a shoot somewhere here in New Zealand on opening day too

Yes sir I will definitely be posting some pictures I am going to start off over a feild as the farm I will be shooting on will still be milking their cows at 6:30 in the morning so I can not shoot at the pond as it is too close to the milking shed. So I will be setting up a few decoys in a grazed out feild and calling in any ducks flying over as the farm is in direct flight path of two lakes and there are a couple of small streams flowing through and around the farm there is also a pine forest that runs alongside the farm that holds some nice cock pheasants(we are not allowed to shoot hen pheasants in New Zealand) there may also be a bit of a video of my Newbie duck calling antics

Here's my account of my first opening day
Morning: Lots of ducks shots taken and plucked a few had a set of ducks decoy very nicely over the decoys *click* empty mag. Went home patterned the 2.5inch gamebore #2 shot found it was paterning like crap called my buddy up and managed to get a pack of 3" #2 steel

Evening: my buddy and I hit the pond again he was woring in a set of ducks that were in the distance I spotted 3 ducks within firing range shouldered to shoot, my buddy told me to hold fire as ducks were still too far out I pointed up and said not those 3 he looks up and goes whoops sorry about that bud.

No ducks but a very good day out and I was getting them to come in onto the decoys with my first time duck calling so I knew something went right. Going to go back out Monday night for another duck shoot off hunting for pigs and deer tomorrow.
