Viper was my first gun. I've shot so many rounds through mine a truck couldn't haul them! Never had any trouble with mine jamming except when really dirty, like 2,000 rds dirty. They do have a horrible trigger though, but mine is very, very accurate. I plan on shooting mine until I die, so I recently bought another one in case I ever need parts! LOL (seriously, I've shot at least 50,000 rds through mine, conservative guess.)

I am looking for the lower half of the receiver. With or without parts. The little plastic clip that holds the magazine in place is broke off of mine. I love the gun and haven't been able to shoot it for about 3-4 years now and just came across this thread. Hopefully I can breathe some life back into the old girl. Thanks...

| Remington Viper 522 comments and magazines to buy
I have my Remington 522 since new and it was in a house fire, in a wooden case. It get rusty so I field stripped it and sanded the rust and re-blued it. I put it back together and it is working great. Only flaw I had was the spring in the magazine got weak over time. I used a screwdriver to stretch it and it is working great again. I get great results out of hitting my targets too. I don't consider this a cheap crappy rifle.
For those looking to find 10 round magazines for rifle, I have found a site that has them available. I bought two. They are metal and not plastic but cost $49.00 each but worth it. Go to http//www.sportsmansguide.com
I went ahead and joined their membership as you save about $10.00 each on them. Membership is $29.99 a year but allows you member prices for the year. It is not an auto renewable membership which is great. Getting ready to order several items for my AK47 now.

| remington 522 viper
i got my remington viper when i was 11 years old. im 26 now, I love the thing. It sure is a tack driver. Ive won many .22 competitions with it. so maybe its not the gun but the operator!!! i shot it for 5yrs as a kid and never cleaned it, then field stripped it and it was filthy but never had any problems. I shoot wolf match grade through it and it never jams.
If any one knows who makes custom stocks i would like to know, be cool to have a unique stock to go with it!
