Talking Free Model 70 .300 Win Mag!!!

my buddy just knocked on my door and said here is a gift.
he got in trouble with the law and cant have guns anymore.
no its not "hot" or anything like that.
but it is mine now!
i dont know anything about these rifles.

its a winchester for starters. LOL! depends on what year the rifle was made in, as to what you've got. also depends on which exact model. the model 70 is generally a very good rifle. usually they are accurate guns, and they have a very simple to adjust trigger.

the bolt and the stock are backwards!!! should be able to date it through ArmsCollectors.com Main Page scroll way down the left hand side of the page.

i know those redfield scopes are hard to find, i have a 2-7 on my '94 and it is a fine scope.

Nice. My 700 is set up like that, retaining the iron sights. When I used to hunt with it in AZ, I liked knowing I had back up in the event of scope failure. The scope is a beauty BTW, a real keeper

that puts its value as a shooter only, as 1964 till the mid 70's were considered the bad years. if it shoots well, it will make a fine hunting rifle.

I hunt with a Model 70 .300 win mag. Mine is '90's vintage, but it is a great hunting rifle.

its got a redfield widefield 3x9 scope and it looks like a good one but i dont know anything about this either
