Change Floor Plate to Clip I just bought a Model 700CDL with the hinged floor plate to allow easy removal of ammo. I would like to remove the floor plate and go to a clip/magazine. Any one know if this can be done?

Anything is possible but I believe you are asking for trouble with function and looks of thr firearm. My opinion,it wont look good,it may not work good, and for sure it will be expensive. sam.

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | You might be able to convert it to use a removable mag like a 7400 but I don't know what it would entail. You might check with LeftyO or Mooseman.

This is nothing I want to do if it requires a lot of work. The ADL and BDL come with clips so I was hoping it might be an easy fix. I have no interest in rebuilding the thing. Thanks for your insight.

That's interesting...I have a 700 in 30.06 that I inherited from my dad. I'm afraid to shoot it just for fun because I recently found out I have a congenital bone defect in my right shoulder that needs surgery. I get enough pain from it already, I'm afraid the .06 might make it worse.
