WWll Remington Rand GI

A buddy showed me his dads gun from WWll. It is a Remington Rand 1911A1 with the Parkerized finish and a serial number of 24391xx. It appears to be 100% original. The weapon is tight with no rattles. Can anyone venture a guess as to approximate value. He tells me the gun is a tack driver, but hasn't shot it in 7 years

He would really appreciate any help. Can't post pics as my camera no workie.

Thanks in advance

Doc

S.P. Fjastad says $350.00 to $2000.00. Because of rust and missing parts I'd say $500.00 tops. Kinda a moot point as its not for sale.

If it is a "Bring Back" chances are there is some history behind it that far outweighs any monetary value anyone could ever attach to it, that said locally regardless of what the "Books" tell you many of this vintage are selling for a grand plus.

Riverider,

Thanks for your research. The serial number on this RR is 2439xxx, making it a 1945 build.
