Question Remington 1100 in .410 chamber sizes!

Hi All,
This my number one thread on these forums, and I am hoping that I can get a difinitive answer to a perplexing question!

I am looking for a Remington 1100 in .410 - the skeet model, but I need to know if the 3 inch chambered models that are still available NIB will cycle correctly with only a 2 1/2 inch cartridge??????? My search will continue for a skeet gun, but it would make things easier if the more abundant 3 inch chambered model will do. Also does the 2 1/2 inch chambered model require a particular cartridge to cycle OK????? hope that someone can help

thanks all

IANB

My 1100 has a 3" action with vent-rib skeet barrel and it functions flawlessly with 2 1/2" shells. Mine, however, is 12 gauge. So I don't know if my info is going to help you or not. But I've NEVER had a problem with my 1100 using the shorter shells. Good Shooting!
