308

I have a remington model 700 308 and absolutely love it. Just trying to see what the best bullet for deer hunting in Mississippi is?

Hi feller and WELCOME to GUN and GAME !!!
I bought a rifle in 308 caliber that I found to like 150 gr. Core Lokts the best.
Your gun may like something different.
It's true that most rifles will shoot different brands and weights of bullets more accurately than others. Which I think sucks !!!
Reloading on the other hand maybe can get you shooting the type bullet you prefer to use.
My suggestion is start with the lower priced ammo such as Remington Core Lokts,
Winchester Power Points then move up as you can afford too to the high dollar stuff till you find whats the best for your gun if you want tighter groups.
Don't be dismayed about searching for the right cartridge, in the end you'll be happier
and more confident with your rifle... A.H

Another vote for cor loks. Good performers, accurate, available. The 150's shoot great in my BDL 308

My Remton 742 shoots 150 and 180 gr "round "nose Core Lokts accurately.

feller in the above post I made I left out that I used the pointed bullets, not rounded in my 308...A.H
