| 770 .30-06 Anyone here have any opinions of the rem 770 in 30-06. I handled one today and it fit me like a glove but before I buy I would like some opinions on accuracy, reliability or is it just junk (710). I had a 710 and with the bolt riding pretty much on polymer I sold it in about a week. The 770 has a full metal carrige just a plastic trigger guard. Anyway any opinions? |

| I am not impressed with the 770. I find that the bolt binds with even slight upward pressure.

| lefty thanks for the info but I have a 200 in 270 and will be getting rid of it shortly. The overall fit and finish of that rifle is just kinda "china grade" for me. There was one setting next to the 770 i looked at and I thought maybe I got a bad one, but nope same sharp edges and playschool feel. Not a bad shooter but want something a little better. (just a little) |

| i have a 770 stainless 270 win, it is an excellent shooter, although its not tops like my Ruger Hawkeye 308 it makes a fowl weather gun and is qiute an improvement over the 710

| For not much more $ you can get the M700 SPS and have a very good rifle. It has the same "feel" as the 770 only with better fit and finish.

| I just purchased a 770 in 30-06 and from what shooting i have done with it ...i tink its a great gun, accurate and very sturdy ....the bolt was a little stiff at first, but with any gun its got to be worked a bit. |

| I've handled both the 770 and 700, and I would really recommending picking up a M700 before making your decision. Like rasterman said, for a bit more money, you can get a 700SPS, which feels so much nicer in my opinion. |
