| New Member New Gun Hello to all. I really am enjoying this site. I recently picked up a new Remington. This was from my father in law, so no moneywas involved. I went on the Remington site and sent some basic info. This is what I got back: "Thank you for visiting Remington Country. According to the information that you provided, you may have the United States Rifle, Caliber .30, Model of 1917. This model is also known as the Remington-Enfield Model 1917 Military Rifle and Remington Model 22. The barrel should have an "R" or "E" marking indicating where it was built. This gun was manufactured between 1917 and 1919 at either the Remington facility in Ilion, NY or the Remington facility in Eddystone, PA. This gun was originally chambered for the .30-06 Government cartridge. There were approximately 1.18 million of these guns produced. We would love to be able to assist you with disassembly instructions however we do not an owner's manual for this model as it was produced under contract for the U.S. Government. " If anyone has a similar model,I would really like to get some input. Thanks |
