| remington model 33 hey guys, i just picked up this single shot 22 for my girlfriend for her first gun to get started with. its in decent shape. the stock is very nice but the blue is almost completely gone with just a little surface rust. the bore is bright and shiny. the main problem is the rear sight elevation ramp is missing and the front sight looks like it has been modified extensively. but it's not bad for $50. i put the laser bore sighter in it and even with the rear sight almost sitting on the barrel the sight is 2" low at about 10 yards. is there a fix for this or do we just have to compensate? thanks in advance for any advice. |

| Not bad for 50!! Use some good oil and oooosteel wool to turn the barrel smooth brown. You'll be surprised how beautifully this old remington steel will clean up. Brownell sells a sight elvator blade that will fit your girlfriends 33. The blade will raise the rear sight and your POI? It originally had a tall front sight with a bead. Many were filed to a very thin sharp inverted v. My uncle could light matches with his! |
