iloveguns...welcome to gunandgame.com. I believe your Rem 700 30.06 is an excellent rifle, too. The Pic above is of the one in my collection.

Ah, you do like a respectable pice of iron and wood. I made the incorrect assumption you stopped at glocks

Oxord, you look like a proud papa in the delivery room, LOL

Talking

Moss500Bantam...yes, it's like holding a son I've wished I had .(ha)

Here's how I acquired that Rem 700. Few years ago I got interested in deer hunting and discoverd that the old military rifle setting on my fireplace ledge was more than a relic. Fact is, it was a Rem 03A3 and so I began my gun interest again after putting it aside for many years.

So...did some target practicing, learned more about the 03A3, and used it deerhunting that winter. Worked great for me and I was happy. However, my wife, bless her heart, decided I needed a new rifle for Christmas, which I had no idea she was thinking about. So she consulted my son in law for advice and he suggested the Rem 700 BDL 30.06. Now that was about as perfect of a Christmas gift as I've ever had. BTW, she gave me the rifle earlier than Christmas so I could use it deer hunting during mid-November in Missouri.

Next, I needed a scope so I found one at Cabela's in KC, KS. Bought the Leupold 3x9x40 and had it installed just in time for deer season where I harvested a huge doe. Still waiting on a big buck...but maybe eventually I'll get one.

So...that's the "rest of the story" on my Rem 700 BDL 30.06 rifle.

Any recommedations on a inexpensive recoil pad? That is one nice rifle you have there. Thanks for welcome.

My recoil pad was bought at Cabela's and installed by my local gunsmith.
