I got the scope back on, I cut the factory synthetic stock down for my wife, had this old wood one around, I'm ordering another synthetic stock, I don't care for the wood much.

My 700 BDL in 308. According to the catalog, the BDL no longer comes in 308.

Yup....they're such sweet shooting rifles too. I'll never buy another commercial bolt action that isn't an M700.

Thanks I have one more to post but it is not as pretty as that one, it is my 338 Rem Ultra Mag it is my plain-jane power house but it shoots 4 inches at 600 not as good as the 270 WSM it is about 2.75 to 3 inches plenty good for they are both still in load development.

Here are my 700s.
Top: 700 BDL .270 Win w/ Leupold M8-4X scope
Middle: 700 BDL DM .243 Win w/ Hogue stock and Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14X40 scope
Bottom: 700 SPS Stainless .300 Win Mag w/ modified factory stock and Burris Fullfield II 3-9X40 scope

I have loads developed for both the .300 and .243 which produce 1.5" groups at 200 , but the .270 I have only shot with factory ammo which shoots about 3" groups at 200 yds.

Why does Vera have electrical tape on the stock?

Yes, Vera does have some electrical tape. I wanted a raised cheek rest so I cut up some foam and whipped out the electrical tape.
