700 trigger install

Thinking about an aftermarket trigger assembly like a Jewell or Timney. Difficult? Piece of cake?

Trigger installations are not that difficult: But, you can adjust the standard trigger for pull weight. My 700 is a 1989 vintage, and the tiny set screw that can adjust the trigger pull is covered with lacquer. Once removed, you can set the weight. I used a small fisherman's scale and set mine at 3# which is a perfect weight for hunting. A friend had a manual from an older 700 that had trigger adjusting instructions.
