700SPS floorplate to box mag conversion

I have a Reminton 700 SPS Varmint (.308) and I want to switch out the hinged floorplate and replace it with the detachable magazine. Has anyone ever done a job like this? Anyone know what all it entails, how much the parts cost, etc., etc.?

I saw a Ruger 308 that this had been done to. The Gun Shop owner told me it was around $500 for the conversion to use M14 mags.

There's someone out there who actually makes a kit-type conversion, but can't think of the name offhand. Will do some checking......

One is KwikClip. That's the cheap one, anyway. Mixed reviews. The 'good' ones are extremely expensive, around $500.

I think these people make a stock for a DBM for the 700. SKS Stocks, Shotgun Stocks, Gun Accessories (Winchester, Remington, Mossberg) by Choate, ATI, more for the stock.
Sharp Shooter Supply might have the DBM kit.
I just converted my Stevens.308 and love it.

h-s precision has a trigger guard replacement/mag conversion (about $300) for that cal. that fits their stocks and some others with some work. I've been looking for a removeable mag for my .22-250 SPS; looks like the easiest/cheapest would be to replace the factory stock with an h-s (which I was planning to do anyway,) and go from there.
Midway sells 'em, so does Brownell's. www.hsprecision.com

Sweet info guys! Thanks! I posed the question to Remington, but it remains "unresolved" as of this time. If they ever decide to answer my question, I'll be sure to post it up here.
