Smile Rossi .357 magnum revolvers

4/19/07--Thursday

Hello,

Am a new member and have a question about the Rossi Model R97206 six-shot revolver. It is polished stainless steel with six-inch barrel and a medium frame. Supposedly it is a clone of the Smith & Wesson K frame. The gun weighs 35 ounces. The target shooter who uses this gun is in the 6th grade, female and weighs approx. 140 lbs. She will be shooting .38 cal. light target loads.

Pachmayr apparently makes a reduced size grip that will work for this gun. QUESTION: Do you know if this model's frame is round or square butt. Would likely buy the smaller hand grips if knew which ones to get. Pachmayr offers both round and square butt for K-frame S & W revolvers. Also, do you know if anyone makes simulated or nice-looking wood grips for this gun and model?

Thanks for your help. Shadeecat

Hello, welcome aboard the boards, the following link will bring up the pistol in question on the Rossi website. It appears to be a square butt to me.
